Vinton Gray Cerf is an American Internet pioneer recognized as one of the fathers of the Internet, a title he shares with Robert Kahn, with whom he co-designed the TCP/IP protocol suite while at Stanford in the early 1970s. Cerf and Kahn shared the 2004 Turing Award for their pioneering work on internetworking, including the Internet's basic communications protocols.
