Chris Lattner is an American software engineer who designed and led the creation of Swift, Apple's programming language, after earlier designing the LLVM compiler infrastructure and the Clang compiler, the subject of his 2002 master's thesis. He later worked on machine learning infrastructure at Google and on Autopilot software at Tesla, before co-founding Modular AI, where he leads development of the Mojo programming language.
